nothing special really, but since maritha said that no one’s been posting, i thought i’d post. a little bit of contrast and dodging/burning, and masking with channel mixer.

for ramondo! since you were wondering..

So typically what makes film cross processed is taking positive film and processing it in chemicals meant for another type of film. For positive film it’s processing it in C-41 chemicals. They way it can be done on digital film is by simulating it on photoshop with the curves and such.

So the distinct effects are characterized by highly unnatural/contrasty colors and highly blown out lighting.

Check out this site, it has some great examples.

i figured out how to get what I see in photoshop to match what the monitor displays…so the green is a bit greener. i also did some sharpening. it’s kind of hard to get a nice, refined edge when you are shooting something soft like moss on a rock, so i was really unsure of how sharp it should look. all i know is that i felt uncomfortable with the sharpness as shot.

went out shooting in the morning and this is one of the shots that I got. played around with it in photoshop to bring out the green and increase the contrast. too bad firefox doesn’t support color profiles…in my mind the green was greener.

I’ve been trying to practice composing/shooting photos, everyday. Just by taking a few minutes to experiment and practice will help us get better…

so, keep them coming!
